For more than three decades, educators from across the globe have met at TCM for an exchange of advanced, engaging, and effective approaches to mathematics education. With a focus on mathematical concepts and courses for high school and college students, our sessions offer new perspectives, interesting activities, stimulating lesson ideas, and a chance to be energized by old and new friends in the mathematics community. Conference sessions will be appropriate for application in a wide range of courses from Math I through AP Statistics.

Data Science is Everywhere and for Everyone
As more careers require data skills and our everyday lives have become inundated with data, it is critical that students have opportunities to learn with and from data. Let’s come together to consider how data science is already in secondary education and steps we can take within our classrooms, schools, and communities to infuse data science education into learning experiences for all students in all disciplines. And yes, we will dig into some data and consider tools that can support data science for everyone.
Dr. Lee, Distinguished University Professor of Mathematics and Statistics Education, has been at North Carolina State University since 2000. Her research interests include the teaching and learning of probability, statistics, and data science, especially incorporating technology use and designing technology environments that facilitate students’ learning. She situates her work in educational design in order to provide the best learning opportunities for students in K-12, her university students, and educators around the world that engage with her in online professional development.
